Kaviari Delikatessen - Martyrs

The word comes from the German Delikatessen, delikat meaning “delicate”, essen, “to eat”. In Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Delikatessen are shops selling fine grocery products, while in the United States and Canada a delicatessen (which lost its “k” along the way) is a grocery that also serves as a snack bar: sandwiches, salads and soups, eaten in or taken away, are made to order in lively little shops.
